- Saddle with a broad posterior groove.
- Wings terminate in sharp points.

- Pigmentation
- Oral surfaces deep purple, nearly black.
- Suckers somewhat lighter in color and more reddish.
- Aboral surfaces a light reddish-brown.
- Areolae present in 8 series of white spots running along the arms. All series continue onto head, arm I series reach behind eyes.
