Replaces Vanessa cardui in South America, south of Venezuela, also occurring on the Falkland Is. and some eastern Polynesian islands (Neild, 2008).Characteristics
Similar to V. cardui, but with a pinkish (instead of white) submarginal forewing patch.Other Names for Vanessa carye described in Hamadryas
