Characteristics

The species is superficially similar to Eueides lybia, with wider dark margins on the posterior edges of the fore and hindwings.

Geographical distribution

Eueides emsleyi is an extra-Amazonian distributed from Colombia to West Ecuador. The map below shows an approximate representation of the geographic distribution of this species. Habits

E. emsleyi occurs from sea level to 1,100 m in open forests (Brown, 1981).
